Ensure you’re covered for injuries to your horse with horse veterinary fees insurance with Harry Hall. An exclusive benefit for our One Club members, our horse veterinary fees insurance gives you access to vet fees cover, meaning you can protect your horse against accidental and external injuries only with a limit of £1,500 as standard for any one claim and in the aggregate.

How much is the policy?

Our horse vet fee insurance policy starts at £78.50 per year or just £19.62 per quarter. This premium is inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £19.00 administration fee. Additional cover is available for an extra fee as listed below:

Increased claim limit to £3,000 +£98.50 - This means you can protect your horse against accidental external injuries only with a limit of £3,000 for any one claim and in the aggregate (cover up to £1,500 is available from £78.50 per year).

Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £22.20 administration fee.

Tack Cover +£67 - £1,000 sum insured with £200 excess. Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £19.00 administration fee. 

Equine saddlery and tack that is kept at home or in an outhouse , or frequently transported to and from events, is at risk. If your tack is lost, stolen or damaged, tack insurance will cover the cost of repairing or replacing your tack, subject to the security terms and conditions.

Disposal Costs +£23 - Costs up to a sum insured of £300, which would contribute to the cost of euthanasia and disposal of the horse as a result of an accidental and external injury. This section does not carry an excess. Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £6.20 administration fee.

Colic +£250 - Cover for the costs resulting from colic surgery, up to £5,000. For any one claim and in the aggregate. Excess of £500 per claim. Annual policy inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at 12.00% and a £26.00 administration fee.

What is covered with Harry Hall Vet Fee Insurance?

Cover on this policy is provided for accidental external injury only. There is a limit of £1,500 for any one claim and in the aggregate across the policy period. This limit can be increased to £3,000 by selecting the option in the dropdown above.

Please note that cover is restricted to a maximum of two horses which you own or have on full loan, or four horses if you have a One Club Gold Family Membership, as named on the certificate of insurance.

What happens if I need to claim on my Horse Veterinary Fees Insurance?

What is covered with Harry Hall Colic Insurance?

In addition to the standard Vet Fee policy, the following applies to our Colic policy:

• Cover is for colic surgery, and does not cover any bouts of colic that did not result in the horse undergoing surgery under general anaesthetic.
• A limit of £5,000 per claim and in the aggregate.
• Costs of after care is included up to a maximum of 50% of the cost of the surgical procedure or for no more than 15 days whichever is the lesser value.
• Cover is provided for a maximum of two horses which you own or have on full loan, or four horses if you have a family membership, as named of the certificate of insurance.
• An excess of £500 applies to each and every claim.
• The policy excludes horses aged 15 years or older, at inception or renewal of the policy.
• Cover is not available for any horses which has suffered from or shown signs of colic in the past.
• Livery costs (whilst at the equine hospital/boarding costs) are excluded.

Do I need to be a Harry Hall One Club member to purchase Horse Vet Fee Insurance...

Yes, our equine veterinary insurance is exclusive to One Club members. If you're not a member you can join today from as little as £3.58 per month or £10 per year. Click here to view the membership options available. If you register for an account and add a Bronze or Gold membership to your basket, you will then be able to purchase Vet Fees Insurance.

Do I register with my horse's stable name or passported name?

Please register with your horse's passported name or number, not their stable name.

Can I pay for my policy in instalments?

Our Vet Fee Insurance is available on an annual subscription or across 4 payments from £19.62 every 3 months.

Is there an excess under the policy?

The veterinary fees section carries an excess of £165, and the saddlery and tack section carries an excess of £200 which is payable on each and every claim.

Do I need to tell you if I sell my horse or wish to add a horse to the policy?

Yes, please contact our friendly customer service team on 01274 711011, who will be able to add your new horse to your policy, issuing new documents for a small admin fee of £10.

How many horses does the policy cover?

You can name a maximum of 2 horses on the policy if you are an individual member and 4 if you have a family membership.

Can I take out more than one policy?

Yes, providing the policy is covering a different horse.

Can I take out cover a horse which I loan/share?

Only if the horse is on full loan, meaning you are financially responsible for the horse and have a written loan agreement in place.  

My previous policies had exclusions for example on the hind limb, will these apply to this policy?

No, there are no personalised exclusions on this policy as the cover is only for accidental and external injury. The only case that such an injury would not be covered is if it occurred prior to taking out the policy.

Who is the insurer?

The policy is underwritten by Convex Insurance UK Limited and arranged by SEIB Insurance Brokers Ltd.
