The clever dome neck of the Fieldmasta Lightweight Combo Turnout / Horse Fly Rug helps to prevent mane loss. It takes pressure off the mane and increases air circulation to prevent the hair follicles becoming starved of oxygen and consequently falling out. 1200D waterproof/breathable ripstop polyester along top line to protect against summer showers. So glad I bought this rug. I have the winter turnout rug with the same dome neck system as well . The dome neck system is very well-designed and effective at relieving contact and pressure across the crest, thereby saving my mare’s mane. Hurrah. Decided to take the plunge and invest in this rug as my Arab mare has a fragile mane which I didn't want to damage. The rug is excellently made and great quality, doesn't budge when she's out all night. My only bug bear is it rubs her shoulders which is disappointing. I have now bought 2 of the fieldmasta fly rugs for m&m types and would recommend anyone who would listen. I really like them. They are very well made, the waterproof section is very handy with our unpredictable weather in the Scotland (although makes my ponies a bit sweaty when it's warm) and I love the memory foam padding over the withers. The bad points for me are the necks are on the short side for my ponies and there isn't a velcro strip along the front buckles, which causes the fronts to curl back. But that is being very picky as this rug is without a doubt the best fly rug I've come across! It's slightly more expensive but well worth the money long term!

I had high hopes for this rug as don’t have much luck with well fitting g fly rugs for some reason! The Fieldmasta fly rug is a very nice rug, fits well across the withers & shoulders; however, despite the extra material included for the articulated neck design, the length of neck is disappointingly short, it could do with at least another 8-10inches as it finishes half way down my boys’ neck. Otherwise quite happy.

Lovely material and especially love the memory foam wither pad, should be in every rug. Fits nicely and true to size, the surcingles come through the fabric to means it hangs nicely down to protect my horse and the main reason I bought this was because of the neck that prevents rubs which it has done so far. My only gripe would be no velcro on the front fastenings as the front often folds back, but a minor issue.

We live in the New Forest where the flies are particularly bad – we have a breed called a crab fly – need I say any more! I was testing out the Fieldmasta Fly Rug on my rather large warmblood whom I usually struggle to get fly rugs deep enough and then they always seem to rub his shoulders and mane disappears in the section in front of his wither. I can safely say that the fit was fantastic – deep enough and the large vent on the shoulder meant he had plenty of room to move. The pad across wither sat in the correct place and didn’t move and the best bit was no rubbing anywhere.

HOW SHOULD I WASH MY MASTA TURNOUT RUG?

Assess if you really need to wash your rug? If you can brush off dirt and wipe off grease with hot soapy cloth from the lining, actually not washing your rug will be the best action to increase the lifespan of the waterproof material. As over time the waterproof treatment will deteriorate with every wash especially if washing instructions have not been followed (washing at too hot a temperature, washing with the wrong detergents, too aggressive cycle or washed together with other rugs are the main reasons for this)

You can choose to take your Turnout Rugs (and Stable Rugs) to a professional rug cleaning service that has the specialist equipment required and follow the instructions on the care label, Washing the rug individually at a cool temperature on a gentle cycle using non-biological soap.

However, if you do need to wash your rug we would suggest following the below steps to prolong the life of your rug and for it to perform at its best:

  1. Once the rug is dry, Remove as much excess dirt and mud as possible with a soft brush.
  2. Remove any hair or dirt from the lining with a soft brush.
  3. Close all straps and Velcro fastenings. If possible, we would suggest removing any straps or fastenings that are able to be removed prior to washing.
  4. Hand wash cool temperature using non-biological soap. Washing in high temperatures will cause damage to the waterproof treatment on the fabric.

If you do choose to machine wash always use a machine that is large enough to comfortably hold the rug and cool wash on a gentle cycle. Rugs can be damaged if they are crammed into a washing machine.

  1. Always wash individually to prevent damage to the rug.
  2. Reshape the rug whilst damp, check that any memory foam padding is lying flat before drying.
  3. Drip dry over a gate or fence, Do not tumble dry.
  4. Apply a spray on reproofing treatment to the outer fabric.
  5. Always store in a cool, dry place.

Harry Hall Returns Policy

We offer a free 30 day returns promise. This means from receipt of your parcel; you have 30 days to return your products to us for a refund.

Please ensure original tags are attached to your returned items and take care when trying items that could be easily spoiled. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if goods are not returned in a saleable condition or are damaged.

Postage fees will not be refunded under the consumer rights act 2015. Returns from customers not a member of the One Club require the postage to be paid for at the post office or delivery provider by the customer.

Please note we do not arrange product exchanges and recommend that customers place a new order for any products or different sizes online after following the returns process below.

How to return your item(s):

For guest checkouts and non-members:

  1. Print and enclose your pick note or order confirmation
  2. Repackage your item using the bag it was delivered in where possible
  3. Attach our returns address as a shipping label:

  4. Take your parcel to your local post office or delivery provider, pay for the postage to return the item, and obtain a proof or postage receipt

For One Club members (free returns for Gold, Platinum and Bronze members):

  1. Log into your HarryHall.com shopping account and click ‘My Returns’
  2. Enter your order number and delivery postcode.
  3. Select the product to be returned and the return reason and submit the request.
  4. Your label containing a QR code will be generated. You can either print the label and attach to the parcel yourself, or download and take the digital version of your label to the post office on your mobile device where they will scan the QR code and print for you.
  5. Put your item or items along with your returns form into the same box or bag if possible and seal up securely.
  6. You can either arrange for the post office to collect your parcel from your home or work address for free with Parcel Collect, or you can take your package to your nearest Post Office. Remember to ask for a proof of return receipt.

Receiving refunds:

Once we receive your returned items, you should be refunded within 10 working days - please be aware this process can take up to 14 days during our peak periods. We will send you an email to confirm when the refund has been processed.

One Club Members will not be charged for the cost of return delivery - please note that non-members and guest checkouts will need to pay for the cost of delivering their return.

Faulty items:

All our stock is inspected to ensure it meets the incredibly high standards we have in place. Please accept our apologies if your item is faulty, please contact our customer service team on 01274 711011 or send images to contact@harryhall.com for us to support with a refund or replacement.

Returning from outside the UK:

Please use your local postal service to return the items. Complete the returns note included in your parcel and return to the following address:

We recommend you obtain proof of postage, unfortunately, we’re not able to refund returns costs from abroad.

Who covers the cost of returning my items?

If you are a One Club member the cost of returning your items is free when you use our online returns system.

If you require a refund and are not a One Club member you will need to pay for postage when returning the item.

Returning a rug:

If you have purchased a rug, when trying it on, please ensure your horse is clean and try it on with a thin sheet underneath. We are unable to accept returns that are dirty with mud, dust or horsehair due to hygiene reasons.

Returning a Dog Coat:

All dog coats to be eligible for a refund must be returned in their original condition; free from dog hair, not been washed or brushed. Please take extra care when trying the coat by making sure the dog is clean and using a towel or cloth to prevent hair and smells sticking to the coat. We are unable to accept returns that are dirty with mud, dust or hair due to hygiene reasons.

Bundles and Free Gift Returns:

  • For a full refund, please ensure all items from the bundle deal or free gift promotion are returned. If discounted items are returned meaning that the original promotion conditions are no longer met, the cost of the discount or free gift will be charged to the order.
  • Partial bundle returns will be refunded pro rata.
  • Free gifts must be returned with their parent product, in order to receive a full refund, otherwise the parent product will be refunded minus the free gift value.
  • Free gifts are not refundable on their own.

Christmas Gifting

Returns for Christmas gifting will be extended until the 14th Jan 2024 with a proof of purchase.
